Inauguration Day for my New Blog - My Introduction - Written March 1st

Today is the first of March, also Ash Wednesday,
a good day to start a new blog.

As a writer, I write every day—to family, to friends, on Facebook and Twitter, book reviews, signing petitions, commenting on blogs, writing stories, and poems—you get the picture. I’m all about words and grammar, creativity and putting in my “two cents’ worth”—my “Penny’s Worth.”

I already have two blogs:  http://pennyreviews-chat.blogspot.com/ where I review children’s books and interview authors. And http://reviewsforpenny.blogspot.com/ where I post reviews of my books.

So what will this new blog be about? It will be a little bit of everything.

I want to have a forum to discuss whatever I want to discuss unrelated to my children’s books. I also write short stories and poems that are intended for actual adults. And I’m working on my Memoirs—creative nonfiction—about my life. I may post some of my poems. I may post some of my short stories. I may post snippets of my Memoirs. In this blog, I have the freedom to do that and not alienate parents or grandparents or teachers interested in my children’s books.

Since I’d like this first one to be short and sweet (to give me some time to work on the next post), I’ll start with some of my poems:

Haiku Poetry

Black on white at night
Wear Black on black by daylight
Be seen. Be safe. Right.

Black squirrel, white road
Black squirrel, blacker asphalt.
Safe and vigilant.

Pretty little  bird.
Flying low, chirping brightly.
Cat prowling near you.

********

THE END
A little joke.
A smallish toke.
A bit of coke.
A tiny stroke.
An awful choke.
A final croak.
The End

I will cogitate on my next post. I’m thinking of a perspective on aging, something we Baby Boomers are experiencing and can’t stop talking about our experiences.

Stay well,
stay strong,
stay tuned. . .
